17 August 2015
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2015 were released earlier this week, with nine UK universities featuring in the top 100, up from eight in 2014.
The University of Warwick was the big winner as it made its debut in the top 100 for the first time. It was a leap of 96 places on last year’s ranking, and University of Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Nigel Thrift welcomed the news. He said: “This has been a year filled with stunning international ranking results for the University of Warwick and it is particularly fitting that this come in the year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our University.”
It was the University of Cambridge who remained the top UK university on the list placing 5th, while Oxbridge rival Oxford was 10th.
